Level: Intermediate - for climbers with experience climbing on real rock

Push your climbing skills to the next level on a weekend of guided multi-pitch climbing in Snowdonia. Over two full days, you’ll learn techniques for longer routes, belay transitions, anchor building, and safe retreat strategies - all led by expert instructors.

Regardless of if the weather is perfect or testing, the programme is flexible to ensure you learn safely, make progress, and enjoy the mountains.

Trip Itinerary (Overview)

Friday 3 July

  • Arrive at YHA Llanberis in the afternoon/evening

  • Settle in and meet your group

  • Orientation covering the weekend plan, safety, and gear

Saturday 4 July

  • Breakfast at the hostel

  • Head to the crag for gear handling, rope systems, route selection, and communication

  • Multi-pitch climbing practice including belay transitions and anchor setups

  • Return to YHA Llanberis for group dinner and social time

Sunday 5 July

  • Breakfast at the hostel

  • Second day of climbing focusing on stance management, gear carrying, retreat techniques, double-rope methods, and traverses

  • Final debrief, recap of skills, and discussion of future multi-pitch adventures

  • Wrap up and depart by mid-late afternoon

Pricing

£540 - £510 - Early bird offer runs until the 1st of April. Secure your spot with a non-refundable £200 deposit.

The remaining balance is due 60 days before the trip goes ahead.


Travel

Where to Meet: YHA Llanberis

Most members travel from London; we can help coordinate car shares. Alternatively, take the train to Bangor and taxi or bus to Llanberis. One car per group is recommended for access to crags, although our instructors can often help with lifts.

Equipment to Bring (Suggested Kit List)

Climbing Gear

  • Comfortable climbing clothes (layers for variable weather)

  • Climbing shoes, helmet, harness (all technical gear is included - ropes, protection etc.)

  • Chalk bag and day pack with warm/waterproof layers

  • Water bottle and snacks/energy bars

Weather & Mountain Gear

  • Waterproof jacket and trousers

  • Mid-layers for warmth

  • Hat, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen

Personal & Evening Items

  • Personal first-aid items or medication

  • Evening clothes for comfort at the hostel
