Date: Saturday 21 March 2026 (meet at 10am)
Location: Wimbledon Common, UK
Duration: Half day (trail run + pub lunch)
Level: Beginner friendly - this is not meant to be a training run or even that much of a challenge… Not sure if it’s for you? Read on…
Cost: FREE - you have to pay for your lunch but the activity is free.
Join us on Wimbledon Common for a spring trail run finishing with a well-earned pub lunch at the Rose & Crown.
Wimbledon Common is a London classic for a reason: wide gravel tracks, winding woodland trails, open heathland, and enough rolling terrain to get the legs ticking without it ever feeling brutal. It’s proper off-road running - mud, puddles and all - but just a short train hop from central London.
This is a social run first and foremost. We’ll move as a group, regroup regularly, and enjoy the trails together before heading inside to warm up and refuel.
Our last social trail run on Box Hill
Why Join This Run?
This will be a very chilled run - I promise! There’s no expectation - we’ll go as fast as the slowest person, walk the hills and just enjoy being outdoors. If you want a challenge, take a look at some of our trips… We just want to:
Get off-road in Spring
Get a bit of trail running experience
Have a social
Get a pub lunch which always tastes better after some time outside
The Run
We’ll start and finish at the Rose & Crown, Wimbledon.
Expect:
Broad, gentle trail running with some very muddy sections!
A few very steady climbs
A really slow pace - we’re not training or challenging ourselves here
Meeting point: The Rose & Crown, Wimbledon
Distance: ~10km (route options depending on the group and conditions)
Pace: Social / we don’t care about going quickly!
Lunch: We aim to get to the pub for 11.30pm/12pm - people can stay as long as they like.
Post-Run Lunch 🍻
We’ll finish back at the pub for a lunch/a few drinks.
Who’s It For?
This one’s ideal if:
You want to try trail running
You’re bored of road running
You want something social without committing to a full weekend
If you can run 5km at any pace, you’ll have no problem joining us for this run.
How to Book?

Kit List
Essential gear:
Trail running shoes - don’t go and spend money on trail shoes if you’ve not done it before - road shoes are okay - you might just have to be extra careful on some of the wetter sections.
Weather-appropriate running clothes (would recommend wearing a cap if raining as well as sunny)
Small running backpack or belt - as this run is a little more involved, we would suggest carrying a small pack with the following:
Snacks
Waterproof jacket (weather dependent)
Thin fleece in a waterproof bag
Small jacket in a waterproof bag
Water bottle (minimum 500ml)
Phone for emergencies
Recommended extras:
Spare clothing in case it rains for the journey home
Spare socks + shoes
Money for pub/cafe
