Social: Hampstead Heath (~10km, SLOW)

Date: Saturday 25 April 2026 (meet at 10am)

Location: Hampstead Heath, UK (meet at Hampstead Heath overground station)

Duration: Half day (trail run + pub lunch)

Level: Beginner friendly - this is not meant to be a training run or even that much of a challenge… Not sure if it’s for you? Read on…

Cost: FREE - you have to pay for your lunch but the activity is free.

Join us on Hampstead Heath for a spring trail run finishing with a well-earned pub lunch/some drinks at the Spaniards Inn.

Hampstead Heath is one of London’s most iconic wild spaces: a mix of winding woodland trails, open heathland, and rolling hills with some of the best views across the city. It’s got some great beginner trails, uneven paths, a bit of mud when it’s wet, and just enough elevation to keep things interesting!

This is a social run first and foremost. We’ll keep the pace easy, stick together as a group, and regroup regularly so no one gets left behind. Afterwards, we’ll head to The Spaniards Inn.

Why Join This Run?

This will be a very chilled run - we promise! There’s no expectation - we’ll go as fast as the slowest person, walk the hills and just enjoy being outdoors. If you want a challenge, take a look at some of our trips… We just want to:

  • Get off-road in Spring

  • Get a bit of trail running experience

  • Have a social

  • Get a pub lunch which always tastes better after some time outside

The Run

We’ll start at the station and finish at the Spaniards Inn which is an iconic pub in heart of the Heath. You’re free to stay as long as you like or walk back to the station as a group.

Expect:

  • Broad, gentle trail running with some very muddy sections!

  • A few very steady climbs

  • A really slow pace - we’re not training or challenging ourselves here

Meeting point: Hampstead Heath overground

Distance: ~8-10km (route options depending on the group and conditions)

Pace: Social / we don’t care about going quickly!

Lunch: We aim to get to the pub for 11.30pm/12pm - people can stay as long as they like.

Post-Run Lunch 🍻

We’ll finish at ‘The Spaniards Inn’ which is an iconic Hampstead pub.

Who’s It For?

This one’s ideal if:

  • You want to try trail running

  • You’re bored of road running

  • You want something social without committing to a full weekend

If you can run 5km at any pace, you’ll have no problem joining us for this run.
