Booking Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before completing your booking. By completing a booking with Jove Club you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms in full.

1. Definitions

"Jove Club", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Jove Club Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. "You" and "your" refer to the lead booker and all members of the booking party. "Trip" refers to any guided adventure experience, expedition, or event organised by Jove Club. "Booking" refers to a confirmed reservation made by you for a Jove Club trip.

2. Making a Booking

A booking is confirmed once you have completed the online booking form, agreed to these terms, and payment of the deposit (or full amount where applicable) has been successfully processed. You must be 18 years of age or older to make a booking. By completing a booking you confirm that all information you have provided is accurate and complete, and that all members of your party have been informed of and agree to these terms.

3. Pricing

All prices are stated in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Jove Club reserves the right to correct pricing errors at any time before a booking is confirmed. We will notify you immediately of any pricing error and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel with a full refund.

4. Deposit and Full Payment

A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your place. The deposit amount is shown clearly on the trip page before you book. The balance of the trip cost is due 60 days before the departure date. Where you have paid a deposit, the balance will be charged automatically to your original payment method 60 days before departure — no action is required from you. If the balance payment fails, we will contact you to arrange payment. Failure to pay the balance may result in your booking being cancelled without refund of the deposit.

5. Cancellation by You

If you wish to cancel your booking, you must notify us in writing by emailing hello@thejoveclub.com. The following cancellation policy applies: • More than 60 days before departure: your deposit is forfeited. Any balance already paid will be refunded in full. • 60 days or fewer before departure: no refund will be given. The full trip cost is non-refundable. We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation, so that you can reclaim costs in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as illness or injury.

6. Cancellation or Changes by Jove Club

We reserve the right to cancel or significantly alter a trip in exceptional circumstances, including but not limited to: insufficient participant numbers, severe weather, access restrictions, guide unavailability, or force majeure events. If we cancel a trip before departure, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid, or the option to transfer to an alternative trip of equivalent value. We are not liable for any additional costs you may have incurred, such as transport, accommodation, or insurance. If we make a minor change to a trip (such as a variation to the itinerary or accommodation), we will notify you as soon as possible but no compensation will be payable.

7. Transfers

Bookings are non-transferable to another person without prior written consent from Jove Club. If you are unable to attend and wish to transfer your booking to another person, please contact us at hello@thejoveclub.com as soon as possible. We will consider requests on a case-by-case basis and an administration fee may apply.

8. Insurance

We strongly recommend that all participants hold appropriate travel and adventure activity insurance before taking part in any Jove Club trip. Your policy should include coverage for: cancellation and curtailment, medical expenses and emergency repatriation, mountain rescue and helicopter evacuation, personal accident, and loss of baggage or equipment. Jove Club accepts no responsibility for any costs arising from a lack of adequate insurance.

9. Health, Fitness, and Medical Conditions

You are responsible for ensuring that you are in good health and physical condition appropriate for the activities you have booked. You must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or disabilities that may affect your ability to participate safely. Jove Club reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone whose health or fitness we reasonably consider to be insufficient or who poses a risk to themselves or others. No refund will be given in these circumstances. Participants with health concerns should consult a doctor before booking.

10. Minimum Age

All participants must be 18 years of age or older. Under no circumstances will Jove Club accept bookings from or for individuals under the age of 18.

11. Conduct

All participants are expected to treat guides, leaders, and fellow participants with respect at all times. Jove Club reserves the right to remove any participant from a trip whose behaviour is deemed to be dangerous, abusive, or otherwise unacceptable. In such cases, no refund will be given and the participant will be responsible for any additional costs incurred as a result of their removal.

12. Limitation of Liability

Jove Club's liability for any claim arising from a booking is limited to the total amount you paid for that booking, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to loss of enjoyment, loss of earnings, or costs of alternative arrangements. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Force Majeure

Jove Club shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, extreme weather, natural disasters, pandemic, government action, war, civil unrest, strikes, or failure of third-party services. In such circumstances we will endeavour to offer alternative arrangements where possible.

14. Privacy and Data

We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR. The personal information you provide when booking will be used to manage your booking, communicate with you about your trip, and (where you have opted in) to send you updates about future trips and events from Jove Club. We will never sell your data to third parties.

15. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with a Jove Club booking shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Changes to These Terms

Jove Club reserves the right to update these terms at any time. The version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to that booking. We recommend checking this page periodically for updates.
