Participant Waiver

By ticking the waiver box during booking you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms set out below. Please read this document carefully before completing your booking.
1. Nature of Activities
Jove Club organises adventure activities including but not limited to hiking, hill walking, trail running, scrambling, mountaineering, and climbing. I acknowledge that these activities take place in outdoor and mountain environments and involve inherent risks that cannot be eliminated, including but not limited to: adverse weather conditions, rough or unstable terrain, altitude, remoteness from medical facilities, falls, and contact with wildlife.
2. Voluntary Participation
I confirm that my participation in any Jove Club activity is entirely voluntary. I have had the opportunity to ask questions and have been given the chance to understand the nature and demands of the activities before agreeing to take part.
3. Physical Fitness
I confirm that I am in good physical health and have no medical conditions, injuries, or disabilities that would prevent me from safely participating in the activities I have booked, or that I have disclosed all relevant conditions to Jove Club. I accept that it is my responsibility to ensure I am adequately prepared and fit for the activities I undertake.
4. Assumption of Risk
I understand and accept that participation in adventure activities carries a risk of personal injury, illness, or death. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation, whether those risks are known or unknown to me at the time of booking.
5. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release Jove Club Ltd, its directors, employees, guides, Mountain Leaders, and representatives from any and all claims, actions, or liabilities arising out of or in connection with my participation in any Jove Club activity, except where such liability arises from gross negligence or wilful misconduct on the part of Jove Club.
6. Safety Instructions
I agree to follow all reasonable safety instructions given by Jove Club guides and Mountain Leaders during any activity. I understand that failure to follow instructions may put myself and others at risk and may result in me being asked to withdraw from an activity without refund.
7. Emergency Procedures
I authorise Jove Club and its representatives to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if I am incapacitated and unable to consent. I accept that any costs associated with emergency services, evacuation, or medical treatment are my own responsibility and I am strongly advised to hold appropriate travel and activity insurance.
8. Equipment and Kit
I accept responsibility for ensuring I bring the appropriate clothing, footwear, and equipment as recommended by Jove Club for each activity. Jove Club accepts no liability for injury or loss arising from inadequate personal equipment.
9. Photography and Media
I consent to photographs or video being taken during Jove Club activities and to these being used for promotional purposes on Jove Club's website and social media channels. If you do not wish to appear in any promotional material, please inform your guide at the start of the activity.
10. Governing Law
This waiver is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with participation in Jove Club activities shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
