Who can join?
The route will be ~6-8 miles long across 90-120 mins (depending on stops and the terrain) at a very gentle pace with plenty of breaks to take photos and admire the scenery. If you can comfortably run a 10km then this should be well within reach.
For those that want a more of challenge, there may the opportunity to get in some hill sprints!
What the trip includes?
A two-course post run meal at the Eight Bells in Jevington
Qualified UK Mountain Leader and trail runner to safely guide you
How much will it cost?
£49
Meeting point?
Timings?
Meet at 10am
We’ll be done at around 3-3.30pm
How do I get there?
It’s approximately a two hour drive from London to East Dean (depending on where you live of course!). As most members will be leaving from London, we’d suggest car sharing where possible
Your guide will also be leaving from London and will have space for four. If this is of interest, let us know as soon as possible. There will be an additional charge of £5-£10 depending on numbers in the car to contribute towards fuel
Alternatively, we’d suggest getting a train to Eastbourne which is ~1hr 30min and getting a taxi to East Dean which takes ~10min. We can do a few shuttles from East Dean to the pub which is roughly 5 min away if needed
What will I need to bring?
With the weather likely to be entirely unpredictable, expect to need for when you run:
A small pack you’re comfortable running with
A waterproof/windproof jacket
Trail running shoes
Baseball cap (recommended if it rains)
Water + snacks to sustain yourself for the run
A small lightweight warm layer in a waterproof bag
We would also recommend bringing a spare set of clothes for the meal and journey home in case we get soaked!
