Conquer the Peaks: Join Jove Club's Climbing & Trail Running Weekend in the Peak District!

Experience the raw beauty and challenging terrain of Britain's first national park as we combine two of our favourite disciplines. This action-packed weekend promises vertical adventures on world-famous gritstone and exhilarating trail runs through stunning valleys.

  • Date: Friday 18th of July - Sunday 20th of July

  • Timings: You can arrive any time on Friday. We’ll be finished by 4/5pm on Sunday.

  • Location: Peak District National Park, Derbyshire

Event Details and Highlights:

Climbing Adventures: Put your new found climbing skills to the test on the Peak District's legendary gritstone edges. Whether you're a beginner or experienced climber, our qualified instructors will ensure you get the most out of these historic climbing venues. From classic routes to technical challenges, the Peak District offers something for every skill level.

Trail Running Exploration: Navigate through some of England's most dramatic landscapes. From rocky outcrops to serene reservoirs, experience the diverse terrain that makes the Peak District a trail runner's paradise.

Guided Experience: All activities will be led by qualified instructors ensuring safety and enjoyment for every participant. Routes will be adapted based on weather conditions and group ability, but expect challenging days that will push your limits and reward you with unforgettable experiences.

Getting onto Real Rock: You’ll have the opportunity to progress from bouldering wall to real rock under supervision of expert mountaineering & climbing instructors. This is what all the bouldering sessions in London build up to!

What are the details?

Cost:

  • £345 for non-members

  • £310.50 for Jove members

What's Included:

  • ✅ Two full days of fully instructed and supervised climbing on some of Britain’s best crags

  • ✅ Morning trail runs (optional)

  • ✅ All necessary technical climbing equipment (you need your own personal equipment, see kit list below)

  • ✅ Accommodation at YHA Ravenstor (shared room with only Jove members)

  • ✅ Breakfast on both days

  • ✅ Saturday evening meal (excluding drinks)

  • ✅ Professional guidance and safety instruction throughout

Where to Meet: YHA Ravenstor

How to Get There: As the majority of members will be heading up from London, we’d recommend car sharing where possible. Message us to help arrange. Alternatively, we’d suggest getting a train to either Buxton or possibly Sheffield and getting a bus or taxi to the hostel. Other members may be able to collect you from Buxton.

Climbing Gear:

  • Comfortable athletic clothing

  • Climbing shoes (can be hired from the instructor)

  • Helmet (can be hired from the instructor)

  • Harness (can be hired from the instructor)

  • Chalk bag

  • Day pack with warm/waterproof layers

  • Water bottle

  • Snacks

Running Gear (optional):

  • Trail running shoes

  • Running shorts/leggings

  • Technical running top

  • Running socks

  • Small running pack/vest (optional)

General Equipment:

  • Waterproof jacket and trousers

  • Warm layers (fleece/insulated jacket)

  • Hat and gloves

  • Sunscreen and sunglasses

  • Cap

  • Personal first aid items + medication

  • Change of clothes for evenings

  • Toiletries

  • Towel
