The Winter Briefing

Aviemore, February 2027

Wednesday 30 September, 7.30pm30 minutesOnline, with Freddie

What this is

Thirty minutes on a video call, before the early bird price on the winter trips runs out. Freddie goes through what the two Aviemore trips actually involve, what Scottish winter is like to be out in, and what kit you need. Then he answers whatever you want to ask, for as long as it takes.

It is not a sales pitch. Almost everyone who books one of these comes on their own and has never held an ice axe, and the questions that stop them are usually the same handful. They are easier to answer out loud than in a paragraph on a webpage.

Cameras off is completely fine and you do not have to say a word. Plenty of people just listen. If you cannot make the time, sign up anyway and we will send you a write-up the next day.

What we’ll cover

  • What each of the two trips involves, day by day
  • What Scottish winter actually feels like, and what happens if the weather turns
  • Kit: what to buy, what to hire in Aviemore, what we provide
  • Getting there, including the sleeper from Euston
  • How fit you need to be, honestly
  • Your questions, for as long as they take

The Winter Briefing

Wednesday 30 September, 7.30pm

30 minutes on a video call. Free, and no obligation to book anything.

Just so Freddie knows what to spend the time on. It does not commit you to anything.

Freddie will answer it on the night without saying whose it was. If you would rather not speak at all, this is the way to be heard.

Can’t make the time? Sign up anyway and we’ll send you the write-up the next day.

Freddie takes notes during the call so he can write up the answers afterwards. Nothing is recorded, nothing is shared word for word, and the write-up never names anyone.

The early bird price on both winter trips runs until Saturday 3 October, so you have a few days after the call to decide.
